AGARTALA, Sep 9 (TIWN): Once again CPI-M most likely to introduce old faces in the upcoming Election of 2018. In a press conference, Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar lost temper when media asked, ‘Why CPI-M is not interested to bring new faces in the party?’. Dhar reacting nervous, angry upon the question said, “We are not like Prime Minister Narendra Modi who wants to run India with young generation. A country, a party need always experienced peopleâ€. Dhar further said, “I have a request to my media friends please wait till the list gets out. Without seeing our lists, how can you guess it ? CPI-M is not against young people. We will also give chance to them but wait till the list comes outâ€. However, Bijan Dhar’s anger couldn't satisfy media inquiry, as the Chief Minister recently accepted the fact that CPI-M is losing it’s popularity among young generation throughout the country.
Moreover, Tripura DYFI secretary is Amal Chakraborty is atleast 45 and SFI leader Nilanja Roy is above 33, but till day they could not stand in Election as CPI-M “needs Experienced Old People” !
Apart from this Bijan Dhar also confirmed that Manik Sarkar will become the CM till he is healthy. According to Bijan Dhar there is infact no other qualified candidate as Manik Sarkar to become the Chief Minister of Tripura.
Bijan Dhar also signaled that he may quit from State Secretary post and join in another post as every 12 yrs CPI-M reshuffles its party members.
On August 26 with another major jolt to party's politburo, Tripura CM Manik Sarkar accepted fact that the youths are no more interested in Communist ideology when he was in a face to face interview. Manik Sarkar has said, "The youths' response is less than party's expectation”.
However, with the press conference it’s clear that hardly there will be new faces from CPI-M in Election-2018, eventhough Bijan Dhar said “Our unity is very strong”.
