AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN): BJP spokesperson Ashok Sinha said in the evening press conference said that Tripura Govt is constantly violating General Financial Rules (GFR) since 20 years.Addressing the press conference at BJP Krishnanagar Party Office Sinha said, “GFR was launched by Govt of India and every states adopted it but only Tripura Govt is working without following GFR to assure theft must be continued under the CPI-M regime”. “As per the GFR it has been clearly said that the projects have to be submitted under tenders but without any tender crores of works have been done by the Tripura Govt. Moreover Tripura Govt is also fooling the public by engaging much hyped ‘Implementing Officer’ instead of Tenders for such works. No inspection, no calculation are done once the money is handed over to the implementing officer”, said Sinha.

“Who did the work, when completed, how completed----- nobody can reach it out. Aim is to loot the fund of Central  by cabinet ministers as well as to use them in the election”, said Sinha.

“Court 2 times in 2013 and 2014 warned Tripura Govt for following the GFR. After the second order Tripura Govt again appealed in court to review the judgment saying Govt works have been stopped. Court had blasted the state govt for the appeal”, said Sinha.

Pinching about CM’s defamation case against BJP State Observer Sunil Deodhar Sinha added, “When court blasted the Govt it had no shame. Then what about the defamation drama launched by the CM?”

“Not only this, when court denied to accept the plea, then Manik Sarkar’s Govt to confirm the illegal works must continue via cabinet meeting it modified GFR according to which no tender is needed for any work. My question why so much panic to work with GFR?”, the BJP leader added.

At a time when central government devising multipronged strategies to curve out corruption in the system and plucking the administrative holes for bringing more transparency in the governance, Left Front govt in Tripura persuading for opening up a new hole violating mandatory general financial rules (GFR).
