UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, Sep 5 (TIWN): Attack on the local trains especially at Udaipur-Agartala route has been drastically increased in last few days. From stone pelting to track damaging like dangerous plotting are being designed by some unknown miscreants but till day no investigation has been done to overcome the problems. Especially after the Bisraganj area towards Agartala such incidents are happening more generating a mass anger, insecurity among the passengers. Atleast 100 people could die on Monday after the train was derailed following an intentional track-damaging on that way. This was a full planned activity as the same train reached via the same track from Agartala to Udaipur in the morning. Again from Udaipur it started for Agartala at 8.15 AM. 1 KM after Bisramganj the train suddenly stopped and that created a panic among the passengers.Later it took 45 minutes to repair the tracks and around 9.30 AM it reached Agartala Railway Station.

Apart from that stone pelting has been another concern for the railways in Tripura that has also been targeted mostly in the Udaipur-Agartala route.

Udaipur-Agartala train service is continuously suffering from sudden stone pelting incidents, since the train was inaugurated in 2017, January 24. On Aug-26 a woman passenger was injured on head when some unknown miscreants threw stone on the train. A big stone was found after it hit on her head, however no serious injuries was reported.

This incident created a tension among the passengers of the running local train. Earlier allegation came that after the bus service was facing losses since the train service had begun and thus stone pelting came in fashion. Thus the safety has turned a matter of concern in local running trains in Tripura. Especially the Udaipur-Agartala train suffers most from such dangerous incidents.
