CPI-M observes Indigenous Peoples' Day

AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): Whereas BJP has conducted a massive rally led by Tripura Tribals on Wednesday, CPI-M has observed Indigenous Peoples Day at Muktadhara.

CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar remained present on that occasion. This programme was conducted by GMP,TYF, TSU, TUKC jointly.

As the election coming near both minority and majority vote banks are concerning the political parties. CPI-M's tension has increased with BJP's rally that successfully drew 20,000 voters to walk with saffron flags in hands at Capital City Agartala.

The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is observed on Aug -9 each year to promote and protect the rights of world indigenous population. This event also recognizes the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection.
