AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): Tripura BJP kicked off a record breaking rally on Wednesday with 20,000 tribal voters were seen to walk in the rally as party-workers amid heavy rains. The target of BJP was to cover the progarmme of Aug-9 with astleast 15,000 voters but the length of the rally that began from Orient Chowmuhani ended in North Gate breaking the record of tribal led rallies ever had in Tripura. Addressing the gathering Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, "Since 70 years of independence many prime ministers came but nobody is like Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is the PM of India who looked at Northeast, whereas Congress and CPI-M had spoiled the work culture in my state too. 3 years ago Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister and what he didn't do for the nation's development ?"

"Various projects, yojnas, improving of foreign relations have been done under his Prime Ministry but in Congress era at Centre and CPI-M in states the work culture had totally spoiled in Northeast". 

"Unemployment is the biggest issue of Northeast and PM Modi is very concerned to diminish it", Khandu added.

Tripura BJP Observer, Sunil Deodhar said, "In Monmohon singh's Era the role of Central Govt was just like a puppet, almost like someone is bathing by wearing raincoat in the bathroom".

Deodhar further criticized the Manik Sarkar's Govt for unnecessary criticizing Modi Govt, MGREGA scams and anti-developmental agendas.

Addressing the voters, BJP State President Biplab Deb said, "This is a historical rally, successfully conducted by the BJP as the opposition of CPI-M in the state. The rally has proven BJP' strength".

"The 9th August is much significant as it was the day when Mahatma Gandhi has begun his "Quit India Movement' against British and today's rally on behalf of BJP is Quit Tripura movement against CPI-M", said Deb.
