Section 144 has been extended for more 24 hrs at Budhjung Nagar : SP West

AGARTALA, Aug 3 (TIWN): Section 144 has again been extended for next 24 hours at Bodhjung Nagar on Thursday, said SP West Abhijit Saptarshi to TIWN. On Thursday 10 AM the Section 144's enforcement has completed 48 hours, whereas more 24 hours has been added for safety of the locals and only after inspecting the situation Section-144 will be withdrawn. Total four cases has been lodged against Bodhjung Nagar incident occurred on Tuesday morning : one case is from the industrialists whose industries, properties were burnt and damaged, another is for spreading rumour about the kidnapping of the women including Rabindra Debbarma. There are also cases about injuries, damages done by the people and search is going on who had spread the violence via whatsApp and Facebook.

“Police duty is not political, neither it has any grudge against any political party but to identify the real culprit and to hold the peace is our work”, said Saptarshi.

Industry Minister Tapan Chakraborty has visited Bodhjung Nagar site on wednesday afternoon.

CPI-M conducted a massive rally against IPFT, whereas IPFT in a press conference said that along with IPFT, CPI-M leaders are also in police custody.

30 policemen were injured including the SP West Abhijit Saptarshi as the agitators were attacking with stones and bricks in hands.

Point was that the agitators didn’t know for whom they were agitating ! Mallika Tripura centering whom the violence spread, she said, ‘Nothing happened like that. I am just shocked to know about all the incident aroused centering me”.

SP also said, “The girl not only accepted but also has given her statement in the court and it has been recorded”.

Total 10 persons have been sent to suffer jail custody and one Rabindra Debbarma have kept in police custody, whereas one person was released by court on Wednesday for being juvenile.
