AGARTALA, Aug 2 (TIWN): CPI-M’s organized Central Fund looting, mass deprivations forced SSA teachers to continue ‘hunger strike till death’. Eventhough media focus had turned towards Bodhjunagar on Tuesday and media didn’t stand beside the SSA teachers for long, even some popular TV channels didn't mention about SSA teachers for a second too but the spirit of the SSA teachers remained high. When people at home had glued on their TV sets for IPFT cadres Bodhjung Nagar rampage but many senior citizens were spotted discussing about SSA hunger strikers future after long deprivation. Many common people gathered at Orient Chowmuhani to hear the plea of the SSA teachers and across the Orient Chowmuhani area public kept focus and joined the hunger strikers to support them morally. CPI-M’s 24 years long deprivation in education sector, denying regularization payscales even after State Govt regularized SSA teachers on paper for fetching Central funds, finally forced SSA teachers to undertake this extreme step of ‘hunger strike till death’.

SSA teachers are mix of Tribal/ Bengali but they all are teachers who have claimed their money have been looted by Tripura Govt till day. In 2015 Tripura Govt already stated to the centre that SSA teachers are regular for fetching Central funding but in the state,  the State Govt had never declared that to Teachers so that Govt need not pay higher payscales to Teachers.

SSA teachers disclosed that they have been regularized in 2015 already and that was accepted by the finance minister Bhanulal Saha when central govt asked the state govt to give details about regular paid salaries.

In an RIT filed in 2015 Jyoti Pahwa, Under Secretary to the Govt of India said in the No. F. - 7/ 2016-EE.B, "SSA funds for salary is provided for regular and contract teachers as informed by the State". Thus the teachers who have been fooled by Tripura Govt saying they are contractual, have sat in hunger strike demanding notification of their regularization.

The problem of Tripura Govt is it can not ask the centre to regularize them as already state regularized the teachers and now is sanctioning funds from the centre.

SSA teachers claimed in the name of irregular jobs, under SSA, RMSA the state govt is cutting the pockets of teachers, every months that can not be done once the teachers are regularized.
