AGARTALA, Aug 1 (TIWN): After SP West Abhijit Saptarshi's media briefing it's clear that it was none other than the barbaric IPFT political party caused the mass violence, whereas centering whom (Mallika Devi Tripura) the violence developed, she has fully denied to have been kidnapped by anyone. Mallika has also confirmed media that she was not kidnapped. However police will investigate where she was on yesterday night and how she went to her brother's house. SP Abhijit Saptarshi said, "IPFT supporters since yesterday night was gathering here and spreading rumours via social media and alteast 300 to 400 violent youths are hired to gather here. IPFT supporters were bearing rods, sticks and we had been requesting them to allow us to work, but they didn't follow Police instruction".
"We also told the IPFT leaders to control their people and leaders failed to control their people. IPFT tried to damage the police station and attacked on police. Then we didn't have any option but under the guidance of executive magistrate we released tear gas. But they were very violent and also attacked on TSR, Police as well as media people", said Saptarshi.
"We have used minimum force and under violence a specific case will be registered", said Saptarshi.
Police, TSR controlled the situation by lathi charge and tear gas after the angry mass attacked the police with stones and sticks in hands.
The attack and gherao of police station was fully a sudden activity and police couldn't get time to prepare.
Later lathi charge had controlled the situation, whereas tear gas also remained helpful. Section 144 has been implemented at there.
Allegedly, since yesterday night IPFT is trying to trigger violence issuing that Mallika was kidnapped. Some people said, "Mallika was murdered after rape".
However strict actions to be taken against them who spread fake news especially via whatsapp, facebook, said SP West in media briefing.
