AGARTALA, July 23 (TIWN): The clean image of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has once again exposed when a teachers group who were to sit in mass demonstration on Sunday, were not given permission to hold the protest. The teachers holding a press conference said, “We are shocked with the decision of the govt that has stopped us to raise our voice”. The teachers under Joint Teachers' Movement Committee (JTMC) held various protests earlier in demand of various pending issues; including 10323 teachers' fresh recruitment. But with the rejection of permission-order by the left front govt has finally exposed the govt’s real face before the state.

With a fresh move, when the state govt employees are much despair with the salaries, pay scale under Tripura Govt, a huge number of teachers had staged in mass demonstration on April 23rd, protesting the long deprivation to the state govt employees here.

Even after the Central Govt has announced 7th Pay Commission for its employees, but Tripura Govt employees received nothing, but a pay review's promised given by state finance dept during the assembly, in a press meet held at Agartala Press Club led by Joint Teachers' Movement Committee (JTMC), President Ranajit Dey said,

"In the Pay Commission announced by the Central Govt 125 % DA was added with the present basic salary, whereas more 30 % basic has been increased. Already the Central Govt employees are getting the amount from 2016-1st January. Already in other states the 7th pay commission has been implemented or paycommission has been implemented, but surprisingly, while presenting the budget the finance minister with the excuse of no fund denied to implement 7th pay commission, whereas as per the Assembly data from 2013 to 2016 under the sanctioned fund for Tripura Govt employees, there are atleast 932.55 crores have kept as unspent", Dey added.

Question is raising, the govt allowed IPFT to continue the blockade on NH, railway but the teachers who wanted to stage a protest peacefully at Astabol, why their plea was rejected ?
