AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): Tension is back to the Education Dept once again as 7,500 teachers will go on massive protest on 7th August under RMSA, SSA teachers in demand of being regularized. During NH, Railway blockade tension, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty got a relief for few days but now again time has been cycled back with roars of protests to be heard from the deprived teachers. Apart from these SSA, RMSA teachers there are 10,323 teachers, fixed paid teachers, computer faculties problems along with unemployment issues. In a press release, the SSA, RMSA teachers said, "We, the contractual teachers on 7th August will go in massive protest by placing deputation to the Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty with 12 points of demands; among which the demand of regularizing will be given the first priority. On that day all the teachers will gather at Astabol ground and jointly held a Mahakaran-Abhiyan and will place deputation to the Education Minister".
However, in the press release, Raj Kumar Chowdhury, TCTEA State Committee Secretary urged all the teachers to jointly come and fight for their right. The Secretary also alleged a intrigue is going on to break down the unity of the teachers with aim to weaken the protest. The teachers also urged the other teachers to join them to strengthen their stand to the Education Minister.
SSA-RMSA teachers, staffs earlier also raised 12 demands :
1. To regularize the contractual teachers as fast as possible,
2. 'One-day-Gap' process should be abolished,
3. 'Die-in-harness' should be implemented,
4. Increment should launched to identify senior SSA-RMSA teachers,
5. SSA-RMSA teachers should be allowed to sit in TPSE for Headmaster's posts,
6. EL, LTC and GPF must be given,
7. BRP, CRP, Block Coordinator and office employees continuation process should be stopped,
8. Vacancies under SSA, RMSA would be fulfilled as fast as possible,
9. Transfer process should t be reviewed,
10. 156 LDC and Lab Assistants who lost their jobs need to be provided by alternative jobs,
11. Teachers under RMSA should given chances to complete their B.Ed degree,
12. Privatization in Education can not be tolerated, the budget should be increased more.
In Tripura presently there are 7,500 contractual teachers.
