AGARTALA, July 13 (TIWN): 65 kilo of Ganja along with Ganja manufacturing machine were recovered at Sonamaura on Thursday.
In a joint attempt by BSF and Police led by O/C- Sonamura Amal Chakraborty, the Ganjas were seized from a deep rubber garden of Batadola area, under Sonamura Police Station.
But nobody could be arrested in the connection of Ganja business so far.
Huge dry Ganjas are pressed into small packets with this machine and smuggled across NE, Bangladesh.
Source informed that above 1000 to1500 Kilo priced Ganja does its rampant business at Panjab, Maharathra, UP, Hariyana etc.
Tripura's Ganja is highly valued outside the state, the source further said.
Allegation raised many times that due to under table relation and business gangs' threat in Sonmaura nobody is arrested in Ganja business connection.
Tripura Police only arrested one person in last year 2016-17 whereas there are reports of 17,60,195 illegal Ganja plants abolishment.
