BARAMURA (Khowai), July 9 (TIWN): Security has been tightened across Baramura as IPFT to block national highway, railway from midnight.

A good number of IPFT supporters have gathered at Baramura to join the road blockade in a separate land's demand.

This blockade will be continues until a separate state is announced named Twipraland.

The IPFT for the past few years has been agitating for the creation of a separate state, carved out by upgrading the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) area. The TTAADC was formed in 1987 under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution to protect and safeguard the political, economic and cultural interests of the tribals.

Presently Khowai high officials are visiting the spot of strike, with a huge number of security forces.
