KAMALPUR, July 1 (TIWN): Adding to the shameful saga of state's increasing torture against women, another housewife became prey to torture of in-law's house. The elder brother of the deceased lodged complaint against the in-laws. The incident took place at Bhubancharra area under Kamalpur Police Station.

According to the information, one Suchandana Das(18) of Chulubari area got socially married with one Subir Dey of Bhubancharra some seven months ago. During marriage the groom demanded and got 20, 000 rupees as dowry. Yet the family of hubby continued torture on the bride. Due to the extreme torture twice or thrice meets were held between two families. Still the tortured continued. Last night, around 3 amthe groom's family informed the family of Suchandana Das that she got seriously ill and being taken to the BSM Hospital. The family members of Suchandana's parental home rushed to the hospital. There the doctors declared Suchandana as brought dead. Mysteriously, none but Suchandana's father-in-law reached with the poor housewife in the hospital. Importantly, Suchandana was three months' pregnant.

This morning Suchandana's elder brother Asis Kumar Das lodged an FIR against six of her in-laws for murdering her. The alleged were: husband Subir Dey, father-in-law Arabindo Dey, mother-in-law Sulekha Das, brother-in-law Sujan Dey, elder brother-in-law Sanjoy Dey, sister-in-law Susmita Sen. However, both the families being from the ruling CPI-M, it got feared that like many such cases Suchandana would not get justice.
