AGARTALA, June 30 (TIWN): Worried with the continuous pressure from opposition BJP , state govt seems to have bend down regarding the regularization of contractual employees under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA) . According to a top level Education(School) Department official , state govt recently held a meeting with the leaders of SSA Teachers' Association . The meeting was presided over by Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty and those who attended included Principal Secretary,Education(School )Sushil Kumar,IAS, Director(Elementary Education) and State Project Director(SSA) Smt Kuntal Das . TIWN sources sources addedthat in this meeting state govt has accepted some of the demands raised by the agitated SSA teachers' Association. The decision of the govt , as a top level official said, came under pressure from BJP . Recently State BJP President Biplab Deb said in a press meet that if BJP comes to power in 2018, govt will regularize all contractual teachers and other employees recruited under SSA and RMSA .

 According to TIWN sources in the Education (School) Department the state govt took the following decisions :-

1. Employees recruited under SSA can continue their service upto 60 years of the age of concerned employees
2. These employees will avail holidays similar to the other employees working in Education Department(excluding Earned Leave)
3. After the completion of service each employee will be given a financial benefit of Rs 2 lakh .

However, the state leaders of agitated SSA employees did not agree with the govt regarding the financial assistance to be provided after retirement . The state leaders are learnt to have placed demand of Rs 10 lakh as after retirement  financial benefit . However, the leaders also told the state govt that financial benefit  of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh will be accepted by the committee .

A State committee leader(unwilling to reveal his identity) told this correspondent over phone," It is due the pressure of BJP that the state govt is showing some flexibility towards the demands of SSA employees . Though the state govt is unwilling to give Earned Leave benefit , a financial benefit of Rs 7to 10lakh will be accepted gladly by the association at the present situation. "
