AGARTALA, June 29 (TIWN): All eyes are on CBI and Social Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Bijita as CBI team led by Inspector BratinGhoshal will interrogate SmtNath at 10 am in her official residence located at Agartala . A 9 members CBI team is learnt to have arrived at Agartala on Wednesday morning and the team is preparing its documents before interrogating BijitaNath . Being scared of its consequences of CBI probe state govt is learnt to have instructed the top level police officials not to disclose any secret matter to the CBI .

However, even within the police officials there are differences of opinions regarding the state govt's instruction as the police officials fear that in that case CBI may put charges of "non-cooperation " against some of the officials.

Whatever, the outcome may be CPI-M is already scared and a section of party top leaders fear that a Madan Mitra like episode may again come to light and if CBI appears before court demanding CBI custody of Bijita Nath , it will be a huge set back .

It is really surprisingly that the so-called honest(?) and poorest(?) Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has not uttered a word since CBI issued its notice to Bijita Nath.

In an interesting and unprecedented  move state govt has removed top level IPS officer K V Sreejesh from SIT Chief constituted by the state govt to inveatigate in Chit Fund scam. It is learnt that Sreejeh is alleged to have leaked the CBI notice given to BijitaNath to a section of media .By removing him state govtis learnt to have taught a lesson to all other officials .

However, TMC MLA Sudip Roy Barman slammed Chief Minister Manik Sarkar calling him guilty of massive fund looting of the common people by the Chit fund companies . Barman also demand resignation of the Chief Minister on moral ground.

Meanwhile, state govt and ruling CPI-M are trying to divert the issue by crying foul blaming BJP leaders of playing a hand in recent CBI notice . When asked about the notice by the media , BijitaNath said that she had received the notice and assured that she would cooperate with CBI in all possible ways. It is learnt she reportedly called the move a politically vindictive step. Commenting on the CBI notice, State Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty said it is being alleged that ruling party at Center always used CBI to protect their own interest and this time it has been reflected once again, sources said.

Even the Nari Samiti of CPI-M and DYFI are seen to rock the streets demanding arrest of expelled BJP leader Bidyut Ghosh and blaming BJP in trying to disturb the peace of the state . Interestingly, the Nari Samiti did not utter a word when CPI-M party welcomed former Udaipur Divisional Committee Secretary Bishnu Datta , who was expelled from CPI-M party under sex scandal allegation . Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik himself had gone to his house to welcome Bishnu Datta in the party again . A top level CPI-M leader of Gomati District Committee told this correspondent that  Bishnu Datta in writing had accepted that the allegations based on which he was expelled from the party were true.

In an interesting move , CPI-M party is trying to keep BijitaNath away from CBI team , revealed a highly placed Melarmath sources . CPI-M and state govt are trying to keep BijitaNath busy in official engagement scheduled earlier . The sources also revealed that ManikSarkar is trying with his lobby in the CBI's North-East Chief so that no embarrassing situation arises for Left Front govt and the CPI-M party ahead of assembly election . A highly placed official in the state Secretariat told that during the last one year a top level CBI official of the North-East has been doing his best to protect this govt from the grip of CBI .

Now with the CBI notice to BijitaNath it is expected that CBI will ultimately target the big fish . A group of govt officials are involved in gross irregularities and massive fund looting in the MGNREGA and other centrally sponsored schemes like SSA, NRHM , RMSA and PMGSY . And corrupt officials are busy in counting that at any time CBI may even ask them to appear CBI due to their involvement in massive fund looting.
