BISHALGARH / KAILASHAHAR, June 17 (TIWN): As other Northeastern states have almost sealed the borders and alerts have increased at Assam border against smuggling, thus the one and only cattle smuggling corridor has remained in Tripura, especially with the Sepahijala District the vehicle was coming towards Bishalgarh via Agartala. One was arrested named Sundar Ali, in this connection who is a resident of Kailashahar. However, during interrogation Sundar Ali said that he was taking the cows to Jahagir Ali, a resident of Bishargarh from Assam. Police has taken the action after locals and Go-Raksha committee had informed them about the crime.

Surprising matter is that recently a similar incident was held when a huge number of cattle were nabbed from there, but instead of decreasing the issue is turning more critical fueled by the ruling govt's active supports against slaughters and smugglers.

Hence, it's undoubtedly a good initiative of the Tripura Govt that it's doing everything to save the food rights of people here, but at the same time it has no concern about illegal smuggling of cattle that causing heavy losses for the farmers.

On the other side, giving a strict warning to the smugglers, opposition BJP has been remained against cow smuggling that leading a contrast among the ruling opposition.

‘I want to ask the Chief Minister and all the people of Tripura, whether Indo-Bnagla smuggling is good for us ?’, said Tripura BJP State Observor Sunil Deodhar in Monday's press meet. ‘Just wait and watch....many illegal things will be stopped in state, including phesedyl smuggling’, Deodhar added.

‘I also want to ask my Muslim brothers, either we are Muslims or Hindus either BJP or Communist, which child grow up in our state without cow’s milk ? After mother’s milk, it’s only cow, who like the 2nd mother to sustain us. This is not about religion, but our tradition and food culture and also a battle against illegal smuggling’, says Deodhar.

‘Either BSF or police whoever is supporting illegal export-import will be heavily punished; I talked to the central home minister in this regard’, said Deodhar.
