Agartala,Oct 5 (TIWN): Agartala Municipal Corporation ( AMC) decided to have a special cleaning drive of the city for Durga Puja said AMC chief executive officer Milind Ramteke here on Saturday. He informed that a review meeting was on Friday chaired by Urban Development Minister Manik Dey.
Speaking about the meeting he said, “ Provision of five TUEP mandays before the puja for cleaning and sweeping of Wards Roads along with jungle cutting, garbage collection, drain cleaning.
The CEO said that all the ward secretaries are told to instruct the laborers to collect the garbage at one place using Solid Waste Management (SWM) buckets and wheel barrow from where it will be lifted by SWM wing.
Proper lighting and electrification in all the wards and on all the streets repair and maintenance of ward roads by will be done by civil wing of AMC including repair and maintenance of idol immersion at Dashamighat.
He also informed that all executive officers are requested to issues notices to all the households who have stored construction material by the side of roads for urgent removal failing which material to be seized, police cases may be registered.
In the meeting it was decided, all the executive officers are told to hold meetings with puja organizers and market committee people at zonal level so as to get co – operation from them for city cleaning.
Regarding supervision of SWM work Mr. Ramteke said all the executives, sanitary inspectors, ward secretaries are directed to monitor and supervise SWM work on each and every day in the morning in their concerned zones. All the ward secretaries have been told to monitor cleaning of AMC roads by TUEP labors on every day in their concerned wards under the supervision of concerned councilors.
