Tripura’s increasing deadly accidents : Two died on NH-44, four injured, one critical

AGARTALA, May 28 (TIWN): The uncontrolled road mishaps in Tripura killing lives everyday leading the devastation of many families. Unfortunately road accident has turned as the biggest killer in Northeast Tripura fueled by reckless driving, less number of traffic police circulation across the state. Atleast 2 died on Sunday at Agartala-Sabroom National Highway in 2 separate accidents in the morning at Agartala. The first accident took place at Amtali on National Highway when a Bolero car at around 6 AM hit with a bus traveling from Agartala-Sabroom bearing number 1478 TR01. This tragic incident killed Kuldip Pddar, one of the passenger of the Bolero. Again at around 7 AM one Subhash Debnath was killed when an auto hit him while crossing the road. The auto has been seized bearing number TR01F-2400. 4 persons more admitted in GB hospital with one among them is suffering from serious injuries. Tension has erupted in the morning on various spots of the state with this accidents news as the number of accident killed persons are raising alarmingly in Tripura.

Road accident killed 25 people in Dec-January month in Tripura. Everyday 2 critical accidents reported in police stations, although Traffic Dept claims ‘radical down of accident rates’.

Amidst road safety week’s celebration in January month atleast 25 people were killed in Tripura in last Dec to January months.

In December 2016 the number of accidents were 40 and 12 people died out of this, whereas 41 people were critically injured. In 2017, Januray month out of 42 accident cases 13 people died whereas more 44 left injured seriously. Apart from that in 2015 only 158 people killed in road accident, whereas in 2014 188 people died. The number of accidents in 2014 was 716 and in number of accidents in 2015 was 647, revealing everyday 2 accidents held in Tripura.
