AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): Tripura Assembly adjourned with NREGA fund debacle when opposition sharply reacted against CPI-M MLA's raised the issue of NREGA fund slashing by the Central Govt. Sudhan Das, CPI-M MLA said in the Assembly 'When other states are getting the full funds why partiality was done with Tripura? Immediately, Congress MLA Ratan Lal Nath said that due to continuous fund looting under MGNREGA by Tripura Govt since decades, the Central Govt has bound to slash the funds'. The issue didn't stop there, but was worsen when the all opposition leaders started to scream in the Assembly calling the state govts as "Thief" and showing agitation infront of the speaker. "In the name of MGNREGA, Rural Development, PMAY-Gramin yojna the Govt is looting crores', said Nath at Press Club. Nath also alleged that violating the PMAY scheme's direct beneficiary system, which comes in 3 installments the left front govt, keeping the Assembly Election in front have planned to loot 7 to 8 crores of commission in the name of tin-distribution for PMAY beneficiaries.
'How the state govt of Tripura would clarify itself when High Court expressed extreme displeasure for the incomplete MGNREGA works held in Tripura?', the opposition added. It's noteworthy that high Court Chief Justice T. Vaiphei and Justice Subhashish Talapatra on Thursday asked the government to conduct audit in 58 blocks.
'Tripura's development is only in pen and paper, when in geo-tagging state's status is poor including assest ID creations too', Nath added.
RD Principal Secretary GSG Ayangar in a letter wrote state govt that due to false geo-tagging, work completion records published for MGNREGA, it’s very much possible that in coming days the fund slashing from the centre will be a big issue for Tripura.
Recently, BJP spokesperson Ashok Sinha released 2 letters of GSG Ayanagar written to Tripura Govt giving pre-warning about the consequences. Addressing the press meet, BJP State President Biplab Deb said, whereas in work competition Tripura Govt published bogus report, in Asset ID Completion state has failed virtually.
