AGARTALA, May 21 (TIWN): Being stumped by Central BJP Ministers frequent visits, rapid progress in infrastructures developments in Tripura, CPI-M finally trying to counter politically with Yechury & Karat’s visits. Yechury led CPI-M stayed busy with state committee meeting to revamp party but CM Manik Sarkar made a surprise visit at Town Hall when ‘Govt Pensioners Association of Tripura’ was observing its 38th annual meeting. Even in the banner and nowhere CM’s name was written, but according to the report the pensioners placed few demands to Chief Minister via a letter including salary-hike and DA issues.

The pensioners, who have become old, were serving Tripura Govt since their young ages with half salaries also demanded salary hike and refunding the pending DA, but CM even though showed his face at Town Hall but could not promise 7th Pay Commission’s implementation in Tripura. Even though CPI-M Govt was ordered by High Court to disburse the employees, pensioners all the pending DAs but instead following that order, the govt challenged the High Court order went to Supreme Court and managed stay order on it.

After surprise visit, Manik Sarkar delivered a short speech and left Town Hall saying ‘Tripura Govt is giving as per its best within its limited capacity’.

Turning himself as a CPI-M's main poster boy Manik continued lies against Central Govt and said, “Central Govt have stopped MGNREGA funds to snatch people’s food from their mouths and even the peace of state Tripura is being disrupted due to saffronize attacks”. Chief Minister also criticized the Indian Govt for supporting Globalization which is more centered with capitalism.

“We do not have any mentality to deprive anyone, rather we will always try to make all happy”, CM insisted the pensioners.

However, question arises, why the left front govt  suddenly have become so sympathetic, that CM rushed to meet the pensioners when his state committee meeting began at 10 AM at Melarmath ?

On Saturday Jute Mill Employees, pensioners when was to sat in protest against Tripura govt for violating SC’s order regarding pending wages, then all of a sudden the protest was withdrawn keeping the media in dark.

But how far strike withdrawn will help the pensioners to get their rights it’s to be seen and how much CM’s honey coated speech at town hall will profit the pensioners the Election result will make it clear.

Manik Sarkar's futile attempts to restore faith in CPI-M maynot work as his Govt's massive corruption of central funds, huge thefts by his close coteries like BDO Bimal Chakraborty made people realize the corrupt regime of communists since 25 years in State.
