AGARTALA, May 4 (TIWN): Another review to be held by Central Govt to take a look on MGNREGA Geo-tagging status on May-12 to inspect the actual progress done on the ground. In this regard, in advance Tripura Industry Minister Tapan Chakraborty said in a programme held at Bodhjungnagar, NIELIT inauguration that the village level E-Governance should not be burdened solely on the state govt as due to slow internet and lack of fibre connection across villages it's becoming quite impossible to come over the problems. However, in a letter to the Principal Secretary Director of MGNREGA Raghvendra Pratap Singh wrote, "As you are aware, the Ministry of Rural Development has rolled out GeoMGNREGA - the GIS implementation of Mahatma Gandhi NREGA in public domain on 30th November 2016. The initiative has laid emphasis on transparency and accountancy in the system.....It is desired that all works completed under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA should be geotagged in a time bound manner"."States/UTs should ensure that whatever work is completed w.e.f. 01/04/2017 must be geotagged within one month from date of completion of work. The new dashboard reports enabled on the GeoMGNREGA Bhuvan Portal should be used regularly monitor performances in the State", the letter further stated.

Thus a Video Conferencing on progress in GeoMGNREGA implementation by States / UTs will be held under the Chairpersonship of Joint Secretary (MGNREGA) on 12th May, 2017 at 3:00 pm.

The review will be taken on the following: -

1. Registration of GAS and MSE

2. Asset Id Generation

3. Asset Geotagging

4. Moderation of the pending geotagged assets

5. Accuracy of the geotags

Whereas the Central Govt is pushing for work completion, Tripura Govt is pushing the Centre further for fund sanctioning. Reportedly, even after multiple letters, notices Principal Secretary GSG Ayyanagar has failed to bring much developments assisted by multiple complaints by the ruling govt itself along with bundles of excuses behind incomplete MGNREGA working progress.

Ground visits showed that empty fields, waterbodies etc are standing holding Matama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, which had led the Central Govt to take strict actions against some states & UTs as Tripura, Nagaland, Andaman etc.
