AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): 10,323 teachers who recently have lost their jobs in a verdict at Supreme Court proving the wrong recruitment policy of the Tripura Govt, have sat in a meeting at Matangini Pritilata Hall to form a committee which will take crucial decisions about future-plans once the committee will be formed. This committee will be fully non-political and aimed to fight for their rights, where members from various Districts will be appointed. However, their meeting on Tuesday began without any banner to mean it fully non-political movement, whereas after the committee formed they will make banner surely. After the national anthem amidst tears on 10,323 teachers' eyes, the President of the programme announced, 'Our Committee name will be 10,323 discontinued teachers committee' and no political interference will be here'. However, the teachers' alleged that their former committee President Bimal Saha has played an intrigue which hurt their unity and spread rumour. Teachers alleged that to weaken the 10,323 teachers' strength, Bimal Saha announced in a daily newspaper that their meeting at Matangini Pritilata Hall has been cancelled due to which many teachers remained absent at that meeting.

The present teachers condemned over the activity of Bimal Saha for spreading rumours.

However, one of the teacher told TIWN that Bimal Saha wanted to go against the State Govt. but the committee's motto is not decided yet and via talks, sharing of views they will decide, what to do.

Their meeting has been conducted with 5 points:

1. How to overcome the verdict of Supreme Court ?

2. Sharing of every teachers' views,

3. How to form a committee,

4. Preparation of state committee,

5. What to do : 1) to go legally, or 2) by protest ?

Teachers one after one shared their views. One of the teachers said, "Our future is dark. We have to decide what to do next. Whether to go in SC or not, we will decide. Already we are talking to lawyers in this regard".

'I never delivered speech in a hall, but today for the hunger inside I am bound to stand in protest', said another teacher.

'When we were waiting to be regularized after 5 years of fixed paid jobs, then all these happened. Today for livelihood we are here, instead of teaching at schools', said another teacher.

However, the meeting went on at Matangini Pritilata Hall but the committee formation report yet to come in media's hand.

(****For the welfare of teachers and to save them from political attacks their names have been hidden)
