Kolkata/Bhubaneswar/Agartala, April 28 (TIWN): Sharing dais with chit fund director itself is a big crime, once again proven when the Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday filed a supplementary chargesheet against three of the accused in the Rose Valley chit fund scam including the company chief and two Trinamool Congress MPs who were arrested earlier. "They allegedly promoted the illegal business of the company by writing letters to the Regulators favouring the company and also by sharing the dais with accused directors in various functions for canvassing about the schemes. In lieu of which they received alleged huge financial benefits in cash as well as in kind," said a CBI statement. Now Tripura CM’s sharing dais and link with various chit fund companies are not only well known, but the evidences may turn critical for the cleanest Chief Minister of India along with his the then Industry Minister Jiten Chowdhury. On the other hand Tripura BJP state observer Suni Deodhar recently said in a party rally that CBI will definitely come in Tripura as like West Bengal. "The names Gautam Kundu, and Tapas Paul and Sudip Bandyopadhyay are mentioned in the chargesheet," a senior CBI officer said.

In the chargesheet, the CBI indicted Bandyopadhyay, Pal and a Rose Valley subsidiary under Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 409 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4 and 6 of the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act.

It also slapped Section 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (abusing position as a public servant) against the Trinamool MPs.

"The investigation revealed that both the said accused persons in criminal conspiracy with then CMD of said Group of Companies allegedly abused their official position and participated & aided the illegal fund collection business of the company.

Bandyopadhyay, a four-time Lok Sabha MP, has been under CBI arrest since January 3 for his alleged links with the ponzi scam, while Paul, the other Trinamool MP, was arrested December 30 last year on the same charges.

Kundu, Rose valley group chairman, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 2015 under the criminal charges and provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

In case of Tripura from the then Ministers Manik Sarkar, Jiten Chowdhury, Pabitra Kar, Tapan Chakraborty all gave their best efforts to lift the Rose valley up to the sky in Tripura, but when the Chit Fund had escaped with the poor people’s life-earned savings then the state govt folded their hands before the public saying that they didn’t have any clue about the Chit-fund groups original plans to cheat masses.

Manik Sarkar’s picture was found in his cabin sharing tea, coffee with Chakra-group owner, then Mangalam Agro Products limited heads, the then food minister Jiten Chowdhury and MLA Pabitra Kar was found at Ramel Industries, Bodhjong tower group’s park inauguration, Sunplant company chiefs. With  Prayag group of Company CM Manik Sarkar’s picture was just exclusive.

CM Manik Sarkar in the inauguration programme of Rose Valley park further advised them to begin Food business, fruit business and to begin “Pineapple chips business here in Tripura, but when they looted all the money of common people here, Sarkar said, he has nothing to do with their scam. “Think about Udaipur too, Tripureswari’s place if Rose Valley can construct a Hotel there”…said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in 2008 to Rose Valley.

Not only CM's patronage, but what not the Tripura Govt didn’t do to set up the Rose valley and other Chit fund groups here? Not only promotion, but Tripura Govt gave free land for chit fund business, gave excess of business inside Rose Valley park till 2017. After Court’s order only in January the Rose Valley property was seized finally.
