Agartala, July 16 (TIWN): Heavily come down on the ruling party and State Election Commission, the opposition leader- Sudip Roy Barman today said TIWN that the state people have witnessed mockery in the name of Panchayat election in Tripura.
“I was expecting a free and fair Panchayat election in the state but the three-tier Panchayat Election-2014 concluded with a good number of untoward incidents in Tripura, yesterday. The state Election Commission (SEC) has allegedly failed to keep their assurance during the polls”, said Barman over telephone this morning. After a short period of Lok-Sabha election, the state people again experienced an embezzled election in the state yesterday, he added.
After receiving the information, Barman visited GBP hospital last evening and interacted with the injured persons those have received grievous injuries during the Panchayat poll clashes.
On being asked about the situation of Panchayat election, Trinamool Congress Chairman- Ratan Chakraborty said TIWN that proxy votes and vote riggings were allegedly conducted in festive mode across the state. The upcoming days will be very awful for the ruling party in Tripura, he said. The convener thanked to all the voters who have cast their votes amidst dreadful violence clashes. The TMC Chairman also informed that he will visit GBP hospital and communicate with the injured persons in violence clashes, today.
Tripura Pragatishil Grami Congress (TPGC) convenor- Subal Bhowmik criticised the role of ruling government adding the pre-election dialogues of chief minister led the people towards violence. He also criticised the role of state police saying that police are refusing to register FIRs. “Political violence griped the state. The chief minister of the state is allegedly responsible for this situation”, said Bhowmik.
