AGARTALA / PANISAGAR, March 9 (TIWN): A silent rally was organzied by Hindu Jagaran Mancha when Ashim Das’s body was returned back from Shillong on Thursday. When the political parties are busy to blame each other for his murder and Govt’s silent role on this issue; the Hindu Jagara Mancha though this silent rally protested against the increasing attack upon Hindus in Tripura. The protesters didn’t say anything, but before the rally one of them said, ‘If Hindus had killed Muslims like this, there would be a riot today. But when more than 50 persons are accused in his murder only 2 has arrested’. On Wednesday BJP VP Subal Bhowmik said that CPI-M Govt should not be afraid of vote bank, whatever action is needed it should take. It’s worthy to mention here that atleast 11 NREGA workers were injured at Pdmabil Village when a communal clash between local Hindus and Muslims had developed, regarding a land issue.
The injured people are : 1) Ajay Kr. Das (65), 2) Krishna Kanti Sharma (40), 3)Nani Gopal Das (39), 4)Ashim Das (32), 5)Kalika Ranjan Das (50), 6) Amalendu Das (60). But Ashim Das has passed away on Wednesday.
The victims claimed that atleast 100 Muslim locals had attacked upon them with local arms in hands and left them injured. However, asking the SP he said that nothing was like that but it was a clash emerged between the villagers.
The victims will also lodge FIR at Panisagar, but presently Doctors have restricted the police and other people from talking the victims much.
Panic has gripped Dharmanagar, Panisagar following this incident. TIWN source informed there are much more chances of further violence in that areas.
The Panchayat Upa-Pradhan who is the main accused is absconding now. Although DYFI said the killed person is their man, but it drops the fact that Baharuddin and other killers also CPI-M's man, as the Panchayat belongs to CPI-M.
In Asim Das's memory the imcomplete work was completed who gave up his life in MGNREGA work.
