AGARTALA, March 8 (TIWN): Issuing the increasing crime against women Tripura Trinamool on Wednesday hits CPI-M Govt for 'misruling' and 'misguiding'. Addressing the conference hall, TMC leader Sudip Barman claimed that from knocking High Court's door to raising various issues earlier Congress and now TMC is raising voice, but other opposition parties are quite silent.
Trinamool President Asish Saha said, ‘In a blood donation camp held before few days, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that only police, law and order can not control the crime. Men-women and other social organization would jointly work to diminish the crime’. CM during Tripura Women Commission’s building inauguration said that ‘The training should be given to girls boys both from the childhood so that they come out with a healthy mind’. He also added, ‘There is not a signle district, single block where crime against women doesn’t happen’.
However a huge number of women participants were followed at TMC Bhawan's conference.
Although in January 2017 was total 58 and atleast 17 were rape cases were reported, but CPI-M backed Nari-Samiti claimed about decreasing crime against women in CPI-M Era.The report was not published by any opposition party, but when in the ongoing Assembly TMC MLA Asish Saha and Sudip Roy Barman raised the question to the Home Ministry Dept, then from govt data, the dept. released the whole year's data. There was total 446 crime against women only in last 6 months. In July 2016 total 21 rape case were registered, in 2016 August total 22 cases, in 2016 Sept 19 cases, in 2016 Oct 16, November 15, December 18 and in January 17.
Apart from that including all kinds of crime against women as dowry deaths, molestation etc. in July 2016 total cases registered 63, in 2016 August total 82 cases, in 2016 Sept 69 cases, in 2016 Oct 68, November 65, December 61 and in January 58. Among them 130 rape cases among them 68 were minors and 47 were adults.
