AGARTALA, March 8 (TIWN): Tension has gripped those 10,323 families whose future is yet uncertain, depending on the decision of Supreme Court. Since 2010 to the next year Tripura Govt’s appointed 10,323 taechers, but recruitment was proven as unlawful in High Court, resulted mass cancellation of those Graduates and Post graduate teachers jobs. However, challenging the HC’s order the case was appealed in Supreme Court, where Tripura Govt began its delay game and the case left pending and pending. More interestingly, those 10,323 teachers have been regularized after they worked under Tripura Govt for long 5 yrs in fixed scale. But whether those regularized teachers can continue the job or not it will be decided on Wednesday. Supreme Court on last Monday had rejected State Govt's plea for more time in 10,323 case. With a major jolt for Tripura Govt SC Divisional bench chaired by A K Goel and Uday Mesh Lalit has denied to delay the case further, which has almost made it sure that the state govt can not hold the jobs anymore. On Govt side there was Advocate P P Rao and on behalf of 10,323 Lawyer Rajib Dhaon and J P Kamad were present. Salman Khurshid was on behalf of deprived unemployed youths.

However with this news sadness has gripped those 10,323 families and resentment has generated against the state govt led by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar  ! In 2014 the Apex Court stayed High Court's order to terminate the jobs of at least 10, 323 teachers and allowed them to continue their service until the final disposal of the case.

It’s worthy to mention here that Tripura High Court on 2014, May 7 cancelled the appointment of 10,323 teachers in different categories recruited since 2010 and ruled that no proper policy was followed for their appointment. Altogether 152 persons had filed petitions against the appointments.

The division bench comprising Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and S C Das passed the verdict on writ petitions challenging the revised employment policy of the state government.
The Left Front government had appointed 1100 post graduate teachers, 4617 graduate teachers and 4606 under graduate teachers since 2010.

Now, state is eagerly waiting for the SC’s verdict as the final hearing to give on Wednesday.
