Khowai to have tight security measures during Durga Puja

Agartala, Oct 02 (TIWN): Preparation for celebrating the five – day long’ ‘Sharodiya Durga Puja’ Khowai district to have a tight security measures during Durga Puja Festival.

         Speaking about the security measures to TIWN, Police Super of Khowai, Manchak Ipar told to TIWN that more then 272 Puja Mandaps will be set up in the district for celebrating the Durga Puja. A meeting was held recently with Puja organizers and issued some code of conducts.

         The code of conduct issued should be stringently followed by the puja organizers said Mr. Ipar. All puja organizers should get clearance certificate from power department, fire department.                    The SP said, “They urged the people and the administration to observe the festival peacefully, while special security, undisrupted electricity, traffic control arrangements would be made for the convenience of worshippers and visitors during the festival”. All out security measures have been for the festival added Police Super of Khowai.
    Khowai district shares an international border with Bangladesh; on this the SP said that BSF was told to keep extra vigil during five days of Durga Puja. Besides CCTV cameras will be installed in major puja pandal at Khowai and Teliamura town. Police will also carry raid against illegal hoarding of liquor and other contraband drugs.
