AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): Tripura’s unsolved Rose Valley issue hit the 1st day of the Assembly when the opposition raised question over the delaying of CBI inquiry to it. Demanding the proper inquiry and arrest of the culprits linked with Rose Valley company opposition MLA Diba Ch. Hrankhawal asked the Govt about the status of the case. However, the 2016’s Winter Assembly Session also heated up with the same issue, but it remained without conclusion in this assembly too. Diba Ch. Hrankhawal said, ‘In Tripura along with Rose Valley there are many chit fund cases but the Govt has no urgency to return them back; neither the state & central govt is taking any initiative to conduct CBI inquiry against it’. Thus the MLA wanted to know when CBI inquiry will held and is there any possibility that the depositors will get back their deposited amounts or not. However, recently the state govt has seized all the properties under Rose Valley.

But, the investigation under SIT will not be progressed much in a recent development it was known that SIT only submitted 20 chargesheets out of 78 chit fund scams, excluding Rose Valley, showing reason that CBI is already investigating the case.

In 2015’s Finance Minister of Tripura, Bhanu Lal Saha has made it clear that it is not possible for the State government to take responsibility of returning money of nearly 14-lakh depositors laundered by the chit fund organisations.

On December 19, 2016 Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar claimed "Investigation is going in full wave against chit fund cases". The issue was raised by Opposition MLA Sudip Barman in the Assembly when he asked, “Years have been passed in the name of investigation, why CPI-M govt is not calling for direct CBI inquiry on this chit fund case”. Manik Sarkar replied, “Please hold for sometimes more, we have to figure out the whole amount which have been looted by the chit fund companies from the common people”.

However, about the amount Sarkar could not say anything and diverted the issue to the Finance Dept.

Following that action of Sarkar Sudip Barman told him that his role is fictitious. Sarkar further said, “We do not have any problem if CBI inquiry is held. Not only Rose Valley, but there are many companies which looted the public money”.

However, in this Assembly Session this Rose Valley issue also just remained as a matter of ‘discourse & chaos’.
