Agartala, June 30 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress convenor- Ratan Chakraborty today visited the house of slain Sankar Deb, who was allegedly killed in police lock-up at AD Nagar police station in a recent past.
During the visit, Chakraborty interacted with the wife and the other family members of slain Sankar Deb and inquired about the dreadful incident which was allegedly commenced by the police.
After the visit, TMC convenor asserted that it was a barbaric episode allegedly organised by the police and led Sankar Deb to death in the police lock-up. All the offenders are supposed to get sentence as per the criminal prosecution law, he added.
“We have demanded for judicial inquiry and Rs 50 lakh as compensation to the victimized family. We are getting ready for the legal war. We have distributed slight financial assistance to the victims’ family on behalf of the party”, said Chakraborty over telephone, here today.
On the other hand, Trinamool Congress is going to conduct a state wide protest rally next to the Centre and state government on July 02, next. During the protest, TMC will focus on Rail service, fare hike, price rise, state government’s role to prevent malaria outbreak including many other issues, confirmed Ratan over telephone, here today.
