AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): The finding of magisterial probe into the Dakshin Ramnagar incident would be submitted before the government next week as forensic report is yet to clear some doubts, according to sources here today.District Magistrate, West district Abhishek Singh has already completed inquiry into Dakshin Ramangar incident that claimed two lives including one BSF jawan on June 6. However, the forensic report prepared by the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) remains inconclusive.Now, the DM who is probing the magisterial inquiry has reportedly sought some more queries from the SFSL. Once the SFSL sends the in-depth report, the report of magisterial inquiry would be submitted to the government for taking necessary steps.
According to sources, the forensic report into the probe is considered important since it was not clear in the post-mortem report on how the BSF jawan died on the fateful incident. However, BSF authority doesn’t believe that he was committed suicide.
As part of the own probe, Commandant of 89 Bn BSF Sanjoy Kumar has already visited the spot to have a first hand knowledge about the incident. He also met officials of West Agartala police station to know the incident.
Two persons including a BSF jawan died at Dakshin Ramnagar area in a clash between locals and BSF personnel on June 6 triggering tension along the border. Local people had met Inspector General of BSF, Tripura Frontier and sought adequate compensation for the victim’s family. After the fatal incident, the security has been beefed up along the border to avoid such incident.
Considering the gravity of the incident, the government had ordered a magisterial level inquiry into the incident. The government will take further steps after receiving the report from the District Magistrate.
