AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): ONGC’s chairman cum managing director DK Sarraf would be arriving here to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and meeting of OTPC Board of Directors (BoDs) scheduled to be held on July 12, official sources confirmed here today.The ONGC CMD along with other Directors of OTPC is scheduled to arrive here on July 12 morning and would move for Palatana power plant. After visiting the plant, he would attend two back-to-back meetings- AGM and BODs. OTPC’s performance would be reviewed in the meeting threadbare.
Besides, the way forward of the company would also be discussed there.
OTPC’s first unit is doing well with producing 340/350 MW which is around 90 percent of the installed capacity. OTPC’s Managing Director SK Dube confirmed the visit of ONGC CMD who holds the post of OTPC’s Chairman. “He is coming on July 12 to visit the plant and holding AGM and board meeting of the company. It’s routine a normal exercise”, he said over telephone from Delhi.
On the Palatana unit-II, Dube said the ONGC has given assurance to supply gas by end of August to run the phase-II. “If we receive gas by August, the unit will be ready for operational by October end”, he said. In the sideline of Palatana plant visit and two meetings, he would arrive here to review the activities of ONGC, Tripura Asset on the same day.
The ONGC, Tripura Asset has already intensified exploration drive in the potential areas in search of gas. As per the future plan, the ONGC wants to increase production from 3.95 MMSCMD to 6.35 MMSCMD by next two or three years. Now the ONGC, Tripura Asset has been focusing exploration at Khoubal in Unakoti district where a fertilizer manufacturing company is supposed to come up.
