AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): No other State Govt other than Manik Sarkar ruled Tripura involved in mass-corruption of central funds in each and every projects, national schemes. There is not a single project either its Flyover or Double lane construction, corruption has gripped Tripura’s various depts.. Pradhan Mantri Awash Yojna (PMAY) project, even before it started to function in state it was trapped under Tripura Urban and Rural Development’s corruption. Who are the real beneficiaries and who are not------ nobody knows. When oppositions wrote letters to Central Govt and complained about the vague beneficiaries lists, Central Govt had noticed Tripura Govt seeking reason behind such negligence. Moreover in the month of January, the Central Govt asked the Tripura Govt to complete the incomplete works including the beneficiaries names correction within a month.

It’s worthy to mention here that the Union under secretary to the Govt of India Rama Krishna wrote to RD Dept Secretary of Tripura to check the irregularities done under PMAY scheme in Tripura and asked to send the Action taken report within 1 month.

Facing major embarrassments CPI-M found none other than its paid media and mouthpiece, ‘Daily Desher Katha’, a daily newspaper, where news was released claiming that the Central Govt has rejected BJP State President’s claim about PMAY scheme.

However, BJP had immediately gave a reaction to the news and claimed it’s a false news and whatever said in the news is just a lie ! Calling the newspaper, as a paid-media BJP leader Kalyani Roy mentioned that on Tuesday the paper said Central Govt rejected Biplab Deb’s accusation about PMAY scam and Tripura Govt has found innocent in it. ‘The paper also added in the news that Central told Tripura Govt if the name list are not properly done, then to rectify the list. Their news itself proves that corruption was held’, said Roy.

Apart from BJP’s report the Central Govt was also informed by another opposition party Trinamoool about the bogus beneficiaries. The Central Govt also reportedly, asked to send DPR about what’s going on with PMAY scheme in Tripura. As per Trinamool’s allegation under Juvaraj Nagar Block there are 58 Gram Panchayats, where in the name of Housing Loans atleast Rs. 3030 lakhs rupees was sanctioned from the Centre, whereas among the 3367 beneficiaries, total 2331 people do not exist and their names are bogus.

Recently talking to the TIWN, BJP State President Biplab Deb said, “For rural areas the Central Govt is sanction rupees 1.30 lakhs and for urban bodies the amount per houses giving by Central Govt is 1.50 lakhs. As the urban bodies demand is high, so the amount has also been increased there. But on 2nd Sept. the Central Urban Development Minister has received the bogus name list under PMAY scheme in Tripura and as a result the fraud done under PMAY scheme has been come out”.

Biplab Deb further claimed that he met the joint secretary and notified about Tripura. Following that incident already Chief Secretary has been asked to send a DPR about the scheme’s implementation.

Earlier, it was proven that the 60 % of the name submitted in the beneficiary list are fake and Deser-Katha newspaper also agreed the fact that Centre asked to check the beneficiary list.

It was said in PMAY scheme that “At the slum decadal growth rate of 34%, the slum households are projected to go upto 18 million. 2 million non-slum urban poor households are proposed to be covered under the Mission. Hence, total housing shortage envisaged to be addressed through the new mission is 20 million”.

Without making the common people aware about the scheme beneficiaries were selected as per wish of the CPI-M cadres. On 17th June 2015 the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave its approval for the launch of “Housing for All by 2022”.

The union cabinet during the budget 2017-18 also approved the extension of tenure of loans under the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) vertical of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) Mission from 15 to 20 years and introduced the scheme for middle income group (MIG) category. An allocation of Rs 1,000 crore initially in the budget for 2017-18 at the Budgetary Estimate stage has been made for the proposed CLSS for MIG.

But the project now undergoing major challenges due to the various obligations and corruptions under CPI-M era . It has generated huge resentment among the public here and CPI-M’s mouthpieces also failed to console the mass about PMAY scheme’s implementation.
