AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN): The Central Govt had terminated the Under Graduate teachers in Tripura Madrasa in 2013 after the project was closed, but Tripura Govt has preserved their jobs with Rs. 5000 honorioum per month and now the Govt reportedly planning to regularize them as the other State Govt employees. But the salary to them is not providing by the Tripura Finance Dept. but they are taking from the regular employees pockets due to which the regular employees are getting half salary throughout the year.

In this regard one CPI-M backed Madrasa teachers union named SPQEM kicked off a rally at Agartala congratulating the Tripura Govt for thinking about the minorities welfare.

Moreover, even after Central Govt terminated undergraduate Madrasa teachers before 3 years, CM Manik Sarkar is planning to regularize them seeing the Assembly Election coming closer, said sources.

As per the minority terminated teachers in 1995-96 Central Govt had begun its Modernization scheme in this state. In 2009 the project name was changed as SPQEM, but the project name was although changed but no salary or DA was hiked in this regard. But the State SPQEM had continued their protest for the rights of Madrasa Teachers.

Due to various deficiencies, the project was stopped and the teachers lost their jobs. But the state govt has continued their jobs with Rs. 5000 honourium per month and also like other state govt employees they have been provided the hiked DA. They also mentioned since the Left Front Govt is in power from 1978, then the Muslims community started to develop here.

But question remains whereas the State Govt is helping the Madrasa Teachers, why the Govt has remained selfish to the RMSA staffs and other regular Govt Employees. Even in other NE States RMSA employees have been regularized, but the 150 faculties of RMSA yet roaming jobless although they organized multiple protests in last few years.

Apart from that the regular employees have always been deprived of their rights in Tripura.Tripura High Court has ordered the state govt. to pay 31 % DA unless the govt. here doesn’t take any proper DA system and Pay Commissions implement. High Court Judge Subhashish Talapatra in a divisional bench announced it. Court has ordered to give the 31 % DA since 1/1/2009 to 27/8/2011, in 3 installments. So the first instalment will be started from 1/7/2016. By increasing 5 % DA for the pensioners and state government employees the difference between the state and central employees still remained at 42%.

Apart from that Pay Commission’s implementation has remained a ‘far-dream’ for the state govt employees. In this condition the state govt is utilizing the salary of the regular employees in other sectors and Madrasa Teachers honorioum is a part of it, resulting the half salary in the fate of regular employees of Tripura.
