Agartala, June 27 (TIWN): To mark the 25th death anniversary of former SFI state committee member- Arun Deb, Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and Twipra Students’ Union (TSU) are jointly going to organise 8-day long state wide organisational and social programmes.
The state secretary of SFI- Nabarun Deb informed it in a press conference at SFI Bhawan, here today. These programmes would be started on July 01 and would continue till July 08, next.
As a part of the programmes, SFI and TSU would jointly organise blood donation camps, seminars, Gana-sangeet, tree plantations, art competition, rallies and street corners in the different parts of the state, he said.
“While protesting the vote rigging as a CPI-M polling agent in a polling centre of Simna in Zilla Parishad election in the year 1990, by that time SFI state committee member- Arun Deb was allegedly became martyr by a section of then Congress leaders in a broad day-light”, said Deb. He further asserted that the SFI and TSU jointly took these initiatives with an effort to spread the message of that deadly incident to the new generation.
This 8-day long programme would be started throughout a blood donation camp in Sadar and would be inaugurated by the MLA Ratan Das on July 01. The programmes would be finished throughout a student rally at Simna on July 07, next.
Besides, blood donation camps would be organised in Dharmanagar, Teliamura, Khowai, Belonia, Sabroom, Langtarai Valley, Kanchanpur, Amarpur, Santirbazar, Bishalgarh, Kailasahar, Kamalpur Dukli, Gandacherra, Ambassa, Sonamura, Udaipur and Jirania respectively. TSU central president- Biswa Kalai and other SFI representatives also attended the press conference.
