Agartala, June 27 (IANS) Mizoram Governor Vakkom Purushothaman will take additional charge of Tripura Sunday, officials said Friday.

President Pranab Mukherjee has appointed Purushothaman to discharge the functions of the governor of Tripura in addition to his own duties, an official of the Raj Bhavan in Agartala told IANS.

"Purushothaman will continue to be the governor of Tripura until regular arrangements are made for Tripura," the official said.

Incumbent Tripura Governor Devanand Konwar, now in Guwahati, completes his tenure Saturday. Konwar became the Tripura governor March 25 last year.
