AGARTALA, Feb 3 (TIWN): Although the Central Union budget brought a huge relaxation of income tax for persons earning between Rs 2.5 lakh-Rs 5 lakh from the current 10 per cent, but CPI-M State Secretary said that this is just to cover-up the loss held due to demonetization. Welcoming the E-ticketing system and other facilities to reduce the cost via Digital India, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said that the Digital move is good one, but the Central Govt need to increase the volume of the proposed budget. Whereas the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley claimed during budget declaration that India will ramp up spending on rural areas, infrastructure and fighting poverty and the impact on growth from the government's cash crackdown would wear off soon, but the CPI-M have strictly opposed the policy saying that the small business and common people will be suffered a lot as it was expected that some post-demonetization budget will be prepared.

Whereas the Central Govt proposed the highest ever MGNREGA fund at Rs 48,000 crores, Dhar said the last year it was 47,000 crores. But report says that in last FY Rs 38,500 crore have been allocated for MGNREGA and if the total amount is spent, it will be highest budget spend on MGNREGA. However, from Tripura it was found that a massive number of unutilized fund remained under Tripura and few other states MGNREGA. Even much corruptions held under MGNREGA the Central Govt has increased the fund.

Moreover Jaitley in 2017/18 federal deficit target to 3.2 percent of gross domestic product to cover his spending promises. But the CPI-M mouthpiece told TIWN that the govt didn’t focus on domestic production.

According to Bijan Dhar, so many mobile app launching, Geo-tracking and hiving of E-ticketing system will be proven as massive failure as privatization to face huge losses. Following US Police although India is progressing, but the present President at US’s policy is different and there are huge chances that IT Industry will also down in India.

Whereas the CPI-Ms are opposing the budget calling is Anti-poor but Union Budget 2017-18 has announced on Wednesday Rs 5000 crore worth dedicated micro irrigation fund is to be set up by NABARD. The government also fixed agri credit at a record of Rs 10 lakh crore and committed to double farmer income in next five years.
