AGARTALA, Jan 27 (TIWN): Although using tribal sentiments, the ruling CPI-Ms are promoting Kokborok language ahead of election, but in reality the ADC areas are deprived of all facilities and developments. At the same time allegation has raised against the ruling party for intentionally delaying the ADC areas growth to ensure the continuous flow of Central funds in the name of ADC areas. Although protesting against regional parties for a separate state’s demand the left front party always attempts to show itself as unbiased and unfollwed by Tribal-Bengali clashes; but the ultimate question which remained unsolved yet is why after enjoying the special category and receiving crores and crores of funds in the name of hill-developments the ADCs are not yet developed. In this regard Biplab Deb said, “Left had created an ADC for tribal development in Tripura in 1983 under the 5th schedule. After a constitutional amendment in 1985, the ADC now comes under the 6th schedule. But still, Tripura’s ADC areas deprive of basic facilities including water service, health service, connectivity eventhough a single party is ruling over Tripura 23 years”.

CPI-M will never develop ADC as it the huge resource of Central funds, added Deb.

Talking on the background of IPFT, INPT for their illogical demands about a separate state, Tripura opposition parties are blaming the State Govt as responsible for raising such thoughts in Tribals mind. In the name of Tripura Ganamukti Parishad, CPI-M trying to limiting the power of regional parties, so that ADC areas remain under CPI-M’s control, but at the same time instead of free flowing of Central funds ; the Ministers and MPs hardly visit the ADC areas to check the developmental status.

For example the Rose Valley issue can be stressed. Tripura Govt who advertizes itself with Tribal welfare attitudes to gather vote banks, when came the question ofRose Valley has been utter silent to bring any restriction to it. It has been reported that whereas among 100 Kani 33.14 is khas, the rest 17.5 kani is of tribals, which were taken without giving any compensation to them and ‘Khas’ always means for the government.

When the Central Govt tried to do direct funding in Tripura ADC area, on the other hand  the Left Front has demanded a separate budget for Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) from the Centre, while opposing demands for a separate state for tribals within Tripura and direct funding from the central government.

Radha Charan Debbarma said, “Direct funding from the Centre is not required. The Centre should allocate funds through the state government. The demand for a separate state or greater autonomy is not viable “.

Referring CPI-M’s demand for ADC funds BJP State President in his last Press meet told media that ADC area’s backward condition is much important to the Left Front Govt so that it can enjoy the Central Funds.
