AGARTALA, Jan 27 (TIWN): Allegation raised against Congress Panchayat members, Pradhans for looting Govt property at kailashahar. Reportedly, a road was slightly broken down at Kailashahar, under Irajekhaora Panchayat area. But after that the whole road is being damaging intentionally by the Panchayat members of that area.

Allegation came against the Panchayat Pradhan for keeping 14,000/-‘s brick at his own home.

Following the incident the local people  led by Abdul Salam, Arman Ali have given written complaint in Gournagagar Block’s BDO office and also at Irani PS.

But no action has been taken so far, which generated huge resentment among the locals there.

This is the same block for which PCC Chief Birjit Sinha had filed a case in HC alleging CPI-M’s corruption and HC also ordered SIT to investigate the issue. But today his own party leaders are involved in open corruption, but Congress, CPI-M all are silent.

High Court has ordered to begin SIT inquiry upon the Rs. 1.50 crores Panchayat scam held during last two financial years.  A case was filed by opposition MLA Birajit Sinha, who brought serious allegations against the concerned authorities of Kailasahar, Srinathpur Gram Panchayat under Gournagar RD Block, Unakoti District for “non implementation of Govt. Projects: IAY House, MGNREGA and Fishery”, after many protests held by Congress on that time. Talking to Sinha recently he told TIWN, ‘I raised the matter before the Joint Secretary of Union ministry of RD Department at Delhi, attaching a copy with the state Chief Secretary Y P Singh against misappropriation of public money by Srinathpur and other RD Blocks”.

As per High Court order SIT will investigate the case, but this is the same investigation committee which has  failed to submit any report on Chit-fund evenafter the deadline crossed. In this regard TIWN asked Birjit Sinha what will he do if under SIT the investigation gets slow. Sinha replied, “We will make a Counter Committee in this regard, so that the investigation goes smoothly”.

But this same place is now under the threat of Congress leaders, Pradhans. However, a section of Congress members said that after Sinha took initiative to make Gournagar a corruption-free area, the CPI-Ms are intentionally doing this.
