NIT launches strange non-technical course on 'Kokborak' to appease politicians

Agartala, Jan 25 (TIWN): NIT (National Insititute of Technology) Agratala, a Central Govt funded engineering institution which is supposed to function a technical hub to groom technocrats but now reeling under pressure to introduce various courses to appease local politicians. Tripura's CPI-M MP Jiten Chowdhury inaugurated a Certificate Course in Kok-Borok as one of the non-technical short courses now to be offered at NIT.

Short sighted tribal politicians like Jiten Chowdhury suffering from regional sentiments mania so after pushing Kokborok anouncements in Agartala Airport, Railway Stations now NIT is burdened with an inappropriate non-technical course like 'Kokborak' which is already listed in curriculams in other State run colleges.

Jiten Chowdhury met Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju in 2015 to push for Kokborak announcements in Agartala Airport but failed to convince Centre to keep Airfare prices subsidized in Agartala-Kolkata sector. Other than cheap political goals, CPI-M MP failed to bring any positive changes during his tenure in Delhi.

Also Jiten Chowdhury failed to secure any central fundings or upliftment of Tripura's dilipiaded Hospitals or Schools but finds enough time to waste on cajoling Central Ministers to promote a native language solely with the focus on Tribal Vote Bank.

Now Union HRD Ministry will waste crores of rupees for unnecessary native sentiments on Technical institutions which is totally uncalled for.

From an ordinary Bank clerk to  Industry Minister, followed by Jiten's MP status doesn't transform any ordinary brain into a visionary genius like CPI-M's average politicians.

Kokborak language just like Bengali and other languages should have been taught in Colleges which are made for Arts, Humanities, Political Science streams but what is the motive of MP Jiten to push these unnecessary burdens on Union HRD Ministry simply by misusing his personal relations ?

As 2018 assembly election are not far,  so desperate politicians like Jiten might next propose to start an engineering course in Kokborak language to appease tribal vote banks.

Politicians should be kept out of  reach of all educational institutions so that quality remains otherwise every centers of excellence will turn into a dumpster .

Regional languages whether Kokborak or Bengali shouldn't have any place in any Engineering institutions whether its run by Central or State Govts but Politicians paws know no limits.
