AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu during the inauguration of the 6th BG train service in Tripura during a live video conference from New Delhi said, “Northeast State Tripura will not be deprived of any modern technology, which will help to increase the train speed in this zone tooâ€. “Like other states Northeast State Tripura will be equally treated when it comes for serviceâ€, said Suresh Prabhu. “We are next planning to increase train speed upto 100 KM per hourâ€, said Prabhu.“To equally develop the infrastructure of railway is the wish of PM Modi. He cares extra about NE India. Till day Northeast was neglected by the Central Govt and in case of technology after distributing the whole country, if anything remained, it was given to Northeast, but the scenario is changed now. Railway, Port-way---in every aspects the connectivity of Northeast will be introduced by modern technologyâ€, said Prabhu. The Minister further asked the State Govts to take attempt for utilizing the BG in generating more trades.
“Tourism has been the key to business via train service in India. Now the railway has been connected till Udaipur, where Tripura Sundari temple is located and the state govt should take attempts to boost states tourism potentialities through this railway facility”, said Prabhu.
Mentioning further about various ongoing crisis in state Tripura, Prabhu pointed out, “During my last visit in Tripura in the month of July, Tripura was suffering from extreme diesel crisis. We immediately launched export of fuel through train service to diminish the crisis and now the state govt should utilize the train service to avoid any kind of such crisis”.
About his concern to expand the railway network Prabhu said, “I have a very keen relation with Northeast India and I will be keep on coming in Northeast. Northeast must be developed like other developed Indian states. It’s the wish of Modi Ji”.
He further mentioned that the Railway budget per year has been increasing for Northeast and the next budget will be also more than the last year.
However, the ruling CPI-M leaders of Tripura also thanked the Central Govt for taking special care about Tripura.. The Transport Minister Manik Dey said that from Tripura Sundari Express to Kanchanjunga Express the state will remain indebted to the Modi Govt.
But the ruling CPI-M leaders also demanded a Railway Division in Tripura, more stations and asked Centre to maintain the safety purpose. However Prabhu during video conferencing said that safety is the prime focus of the Central Railway Ministry and the Govt is taking further initiatives to upgrade the Railway service, to increase the speed and to expand more railway networks.
