UDAIPUR, June 23(TIWN): In less than 48 hours of crime Radhakishorepur police succeeded in arresting the culprit who ransacked the SBI ATM located in the New Town Road area in the midnight of Saturday. At around 6.30pm on Sunday Police arrested Kalyan Hossen Mirdha, S/O-Late Milan Mirdha of West Bank of Amar Sagar under R.K.Pur Police Station when he was roaming through the road in drunken condition. Police got the clue of Kalyan's involvement in that crime by examining the CCTV footage.
From the CCTV footage it became clear that Kalyan made his entry in the ATM for the first time at 12.41 pm on Saturday to make the blue print of that crime. It is suspected that at that time he took notice of the CCTV camera and the shutters and lockers. Again at dead of Saturday night (at 2 hours 35 minutes 29 seconds) Kalyan came to the ATM with spade and iron rods and ransacked the ATM. Suddenly he heard the sound of the footsteps of someone and somehow managed to escape.
Kalyan Hossen is a Group D employee presently posted in the Office of the Superintendent of Fisheries Udaipur. Even before he was arrested by the police his mother lodged a complaint in the R K Pur P S against Kalyan for stealing the LPG cylinder from her home and selling it in the black market.
On Monday afternoon police produced Kalyan before the Court and the Chief Judicial Magistrate granted three days of police remand.
