AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): Whereas Chief Minister Manik Sarkar took much trouble at New Delhi to meet the Railway Minister and invited him to join in Udaipur-Agartala Railway service inauguration, on the other hand his mouthpieces like PWD Minister Badal Choudhury is busy in Modi-Criticism, asking for cutting down the subsidy under NE special category.

However, whereas Badal Choudhury asked about why states powers are diminishing day by day and state-centre relation is collapsing, Governor Tathagata Roy said that Central Govt is doing its own duty, which could not be done under UPA Govt Era.

“The UPA Govt could stretch the railine with meter gauge till North Tripura, but the present has connected the state with Delhi in 2 yrs of its Governance”, Roy said.

“Can anybody think before to go from South Tripura to Delhi directly?”, Roy said.

It’s worthy to mention here that whereas the whole state especially the Southern part is waiting for 24th January when Agartala-Udaipur regular passenger journey will begin, talking to Minister Manik Dey he seemed much reluctant in that issue.

Tripura under the 2 years of Modi Governance has got a host of highly potential sectors for promoting trade and commerce with neighbouring Bangladesh including the forthcoming projects of Indo-Bangla rail link through Akhaura, Indo-Bangla Friendship Bridge over River Feni and the Agartala-Sabroom rail link that would place India’s rail services at arms’ length of Bangladesh Railway network. Prabhu also assured that ongoing work of extending the railway line till Sabroom would be completed by the end of 2019. He would announce the target while jointly inaugurating the Agartala-Udaipur rail link.

For the land locked state Tripura, it is a dream come true where in just about 2 years of rule in the central, Modi’s Act east policy has shower development in the state in true sense which CPI-M and congress never thought of during their times.
