Ambassa, June 23 (TIWN): For the interest and security of the bike riders, wearing ISI marked full helmet is mandatory in Tripura, otherwise a case will be registered and the concern will be seized by the police, an official of Ambassa police station confirmed it in a press conference, here today.
After the conference, an enormous contingent of police of Ambassa sub-division led by SDPO today conducted a raid in the shops of the helmet seller at Ambassa, Dalubari and Kulai area. The police have directed them to sell ISI marked full helmet for the interest of the bike riders. Though it is late, the people of the Ambassa sub-division appreciated the initiative of the police.
The residents of the said areas alleged that the auto-rickshaws still carrying 7 passengers (4+2+driver) instead of 3+1. But allegedly the traffic police and police is not taking any measures against those auto-rickshaw drivers.
The locals also alleged that the Transport Department issuing some invalid licensees exchange of Rs 3000-5000 to the unskilled persons. Besides, they appealed to the concern department to inquire the matter immediately.
A section bike rider raised a complaint that the helmet sellers willingly hiked the price of ISI marked full helmets in the Ambassa sub-division. For that they are not able to purchase ISI full helmet.
