AGARTALA, Jan 3 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s penchant for claiming credits for Central Forces (Miltary, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF) success in diminishing decades old Militancy again visible when CM in his speech during Police week celebrations took all credits to himself. Tripura CM repeated decades old ‘concerns’ about NLFT ultras active participation in various underground activities related to 'terrorism'. During his speech at AD Nagar ground, Manik Sarkar said, “It’s true that Tripura Govt has done commendable job in counter-terrorism, but the police and army force should not display self-satisfaction within themselves. It’s very much possible that NLFT and other militants are yet residing over Bangladesh who are aggressive to Tripura and other Northeast zones”. However, although Tripura is under militancy threat and apart form that from Nigerian to Bangladeshi all are freely entering in State, but there is no seriousness about border-sealing works by PWD. Manik Sarkar’s party, CPI-M’s Ministers like Shahid Chowdhury actively involved with cross-border drugs, contrabands smuggling kingpins Mamoon Mia, Roman Mia in Sonamura Indo-Bangla corridor.

Apart from that CM said that Tripura has only 18 Btlns of Army Force which is not enough for the security of such a border-lined states.

Sonamura border is has been intentionally delayed in Tripura, although with the Modi govt’s attempts few developments has brought to the fencing work, yet more than 10 KM are unfenced there, whereas 16 KM is at South Tripura, 12 KM at North Tripura.

However, recently DGP K Nagraj also announced that Tripura in last 2 years, faced zero percent of Terrorism threat, whereas across the whole year one after one militants were nabbed by BSF and Armies.

Moreover 35 % areas are yet remained unsealed across Tripura which is initiating terrorism threat here. Apart from terrorism; smuggling has been the key of the all border related problems.

It’s worthy to mention here that Union Home Minister multiple times held talk about Tripura’s borders, and recently also he stressed on the same issue. Reportedly, not only in Tripura, but the Central Govt has planned to seal the whole Indo-Bangla border within a year adding structural and procedural change in government mechanism, so that security can further strengthen.

CPI-M's cash reserve always need huge influx of bloack-money which only can be provided by smugglers like Sonamura's drug-king Roman Mia, Boxnagar-Sonamura Belt's undiputed don cum Sports Minister Shahid Mia who even harboured HUJI terrrist/ISI Agent Mamoon Mia in his Agartala residence.
