AGARTALA, Jan 3 (TIWN): “Let’s study and make the country great…”, this is the heading which is glittering the gate of Golden-Valley H S school at Dharmanagar, but inside the school building apart from rampant corruption, nepotism in Education business, nothing is available. Although Govt had undertaken the school long before but quality education are given only to those children, whose family can bribe the officials and for poor the gate remains closed. However, the practice of bribing has hit the admission process of 2017 in that school. Protesting against the unfair means of admission, the guardians along with children have blocked road, locked the Principal till late night.Deputy Director Barun Das arrived the spot and controlled the situation, although he didn’t take any action against the school authorities, even-after understanding that Rs. 30,000 were looted from each guardians of those nursery students for years.

Moreover the nursery school which took Rs. 30,000 from every students, has no affiliation at all, but keeping the guardians under darkness the pre-primary school was running there. 

The same pre-primary school is set in Golden Valley H S School premises. But when question raised for admission in class-1 from nursery classes; this year it created a mess when the admission was denied for having ‘no affiliation’. 

However, at the same time, many students got admission also, as the admission was opened for a section of students via a vague ‘lottery’ system.

Asking about the every students admission the authority said that the school lacks sufficient infrastructure, whereas sources said that Rs. 6 crores was sanctioned in 2014 for developing the infrastructure there.

Tripura govt undertook Golden Valley H. S (+2) school in 2002, and from that time a nursery was also adopted with that named Golden Valley Kinder Garden School. It was said that all the students of Golden Valley Kinder Garden will get chance to take admission in Golden Valley H. S (+2) school and also 121 students name for this year was chosen in this regard. But suddenly without prior notice, through a lottery system, 75 students were taken for admission and other left deprived.

However, guardians alleged that students who belong to ruling party family or other high profile public were given the chance for admission. Not only this,but during nursery time, from each and every students the school Principal Ashok Kumar Tripathi took a hefty money of Rs. 2550/- per month i.e. Rs. 30,000 in every year.

However, with this action a huge resentment has emerged among the people of that locality resulting massive protest on Sunday and also on Monday.

2 days have been passed of 2017, but the students instead of sitting in the classes, are standing outside the school amidst cold and protest for their “Right to the Education”…! This is how 97 % literate Golden Tripura is operating.
