AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): BSF’s Special DG BB Sharma would be arriving here on Thursday to take stock of the prevailing border situation in Tripura, official sources confirmed here today.
During the visit, the Spl DG would inaugurate two Composite BOPs in Sonamura subdivision and inspected some border areas to know the ground reality. Mr. Sharma is expected to hold meeting with top BSF officials to know the prevailing ground situation in the state.
The Dakshin Ramnagar incident which claimed two lives and left 12 injured, which has shocked the BSF authority is expected to come up for discussion in the review meeting.
The BSF authority has already ordered a Commandant level probe into the incident.
Earlier, BSF’s DG DK Pathak visited the frontier headquarters a day after Dakshin Ramnagar incident and reviewed the situation. Sources said, the DG has asked local BSF authority to take all possible steps to avoid recurrence of such incident in future.
Mr. Sharma would also inaugurate cleft lip surgery camp at Tripura Frontier’s headquarters camp at Salbagan, official sources confirmed here today.
The BSF frontier has been conducting such surgery camp for the past two years bringing smile on the faces of many border people who have cleft lip problems.
This time around twenty patients have been identified for the cleft lip surgery at the frontier’s hospital and the entire expenses would be incurred by the BSF itself.
On Friday, the Spl DG is scheduled to leave the state for Mizoram.
