64,754 Tripura Farmers faced heavy losses due to rain in 2015-16 FY

AGARTALA, Dec 16 (TIWN): Atleast 64,754 farmers faced heavy losses due to flood, continuous rain in Tripura, the Agriculture Minister Aghore Debbarma announced in Tripura Assembly.
However, at the primary level around 46,464 farmers will be provided with compensation.
This year several times, flood hit the state which majorly affected for the farmers. Most of the crops were spoiled due to this heavy, unseasonal rain. Various agricultural lands during the rainy weathers had taken the shape of water body.
Widespread monsoon had cast a negative impact on crops and affected the yield of various food crops in various areas, TIWN reported.
