AGARTALA, Nov 22 (TIWN): After the election result came out, CPI-M leaders immediately called a press meet at Melarmath Party office & thanked the voters for massively voting for CPI-M.
CPI-M candidate Jhumu Sarkar defeated other party candidates with 15,769 votes, BJP occupying the 2nd position with 12,395 votes, Trinamool 5692 and Congress 1063. At Khowai CPI-M candidate Biswajit Dutta got 24,810 votes, Trinamool 8716 votes, BJP 2528 votes and Congress 696 votes.
Addressing the media, CPI-M State Secretary Dhar said, ‘People have given their answers to all other parties and proven that there is no alternative of “peace”, which has been secured by Tripura’s ruling party CPI-M from the beginning’.
However, question was raised about what will happen if all the oppositions align together and Bijan Dhar said in reply, public will vote accordingly and CPI-M will continue its work in public’s interest.
‘In 2018 Assembly Election also the result will be in support of CPI-M’, claimed Dhar.
