Agartala, June 7 (TIWN): Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) is going to launch 15 new branches in Tripura by the current financial year 2014-15. The Chairman of TGB- Upendra Sabar informed it in a press conference at Circuit House, here today.
“The CDR of TGB is being increased in the financial year 2013-2014 against the last year’s CDR and at present the CD ratio is 40.79 percent. The gross profit of TGB was recorded Rs 82.79 crore in the fiscal year 2013-14”, added Sabar.
“The Non-Performing Asset (NPA) ratio has also been increased upto 4.41 percent whereas last year it was 2.8%, he said. To reduce the NPA ratio different loan recovery camps would be organised by the TGB officials. By utilising the district administration TGB will try to recover the loans”, said Sabar.
The loans and advances of the bank is increased to Rs 1489 crore from Rs 1337 crores of last year there by registered a growth of 11.34% and against the target of Rs 1550 crore upto March 31, he added. The loans and advances in the agriculture sector has in increased to Rs 343.46 crore which constituted 23.07% of total loans and advances of the bank as against the national target of 18%, informed Sabar.
“The total deposit for of the bank stood Rs 3650.39 crore against the corporate target of Rs 3600 crore as on March 31, 2014. The bank could register the deposit growth of 21.10% over the last year. The amount of interest paid on deposits this year was Rs 182.86 crore which is 14.36% more then that of last year’s interest expenditure of Rs 159.89 crore on deposit and the cost of deposit is increased to 5.61% from 5.47% recorded in the previous year”, added Sabar.
Sabar further said that the number of small savings has been increased in TGB after the chit-funds got affected from the different corners of the state. The General Manager of TGB- I.K. Dandapat and the CM of PMO- Shyamal Banerjee also attended the press conference.
